Frequently Asked Questions

Hopefully we have made this website as intuitive as possible but if you have any questions you might find the answer below. If not please do not hesitate to contact us using the online form or by email.

You can search for any text that might be contained within the web-page by using the magnifying glass icon in the menu at the top of the page. This will be limited to the list of areas or lines covered, so will not include intermediate stations, locomotive or similar details.

You can search for any ‘finer’ details within the PDF list (document) once you have opened this by using the magnifying glass icon towards the top left of the document; this will provide a box into which you can put your search criteria

Within the PDF documents, the lists, any new or amended entries will be highlighted with a pale red shading making it easier to pick out the changes visually.

Black and white prints are available, normally from stock, in postcard size (5.5” x 3.5”); colour prints (W and MHW prefix and W suffix numbers only) are available to order in 6” x 4” size only.
Larger size prints can also be supplied, but these are only made against specific orders, and once supplied they cannot be returned for credit or exchanged. It is therefore recommended that you order postcard size prints first if you are contemplating purchasing larger sizes later. All prints are glossy, without borders.
I am constantly adding new views to the collection (we currently have 350,000 listed with 120,000 waiting to be catalogued) and you are recommended to enrol in one of the updating services described in this leaflet. THIS IS NOT A COMMERCIAL OPERATION AND IS NON-PROFIT MAKING: a hobby that has got out of hand!

All the photographs were taken by myself (Hugh Davies) or by other members of the Railway Enthusiasts’ Club, and most of them are from negatives which have never before been printed prior to being made available through these lists. Most of the photographs were taken between 1946 and 1968, but some were taken by the older generation of REC members before the 2nd world war and prior to the existence of the REC.

We do accept orders from anywhere; if you are overseas please contact us by email to discuss postage and packing costs.

Due to the fact that some of the images have been taken on older film formats, and that by default we provide postcard or 6″x4″ prints, there are times where the print might not include everything that is on the negative.

If you suspect that this is the case please contact us and we can provide confirmation, and an alternative print (enlargement) that includes all the detail

News about any additions, such as new or updated lists, will be added as posts that will appear on the homepage, where the four most recent entries will be displayed; the News page will provide access to all past posts.

Those that follow us on Facebook will receive notice of any new posts.
